Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 10 points in a new Quinnipiac University national poll.

The Democratic presidential nominee is ahead of Trump with just over 50 percent (51-41) of support from likely voters in the survey.

According to Quinnipiac, women and minority voters push Clinton ahead of the GOP presidential nominee. When third party candidates are added in, Clinton receives 45 percent and Trump gets 38 percent. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson takes 10 percent of support from likely voters and Green Party candidate Jill Stein is at 4 percent.

Quinnipiac notes that among Clinton supporters, “47 percent are mainly anti-Trump while 32 percent are pro- Clinton.”

While 44 percent of American likely voters like Clinton “a lot” or “a little,” about 47 percent dislike her “a little” or “a lot” and 8 percent hate her, Quinnipiac writes. Trump, on the other hand, has a total of 35 percent of voters who like him “a lot” or “a little,” while 53 percent dislike him “a little” or a lot,” and 10 percent hate him.

“We are starting to hear the faint rumblings of a Hillary Clinton landslide as her 10-point lead is further proof that Donald Trump is in a downward spiral as the clock ticks,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, in a statement.

“Trump’s missteps, stumbles and gaffes seem to outweigh Clinton’s shaky trust status and perceived shady dealings. Wow, is there any light at the end of this dark and depressing chapter in American politics?”

From August 18 – 24, Quinnipiac University polled 1,498 likely voters across the country with a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points. Live interviewers called both land-lines and cell phones.

A similar national poll conducted recently by the Public Religion Research Institute reported similar numbers showing Clinton ahead of Trump by 13 percent.
