A report from Fox Sports analyst Jay Glazer has indicated that the San Francisco 49ers are likely to part ways with embattled quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“Regardless of politics or not, he has a very, very big uphill battle to make this team. I’d be shocked if he’s on the 49ers by the time this season ends. It has nothing to do with political views whatsoever. He lost a ton of weight this offseason, had three surgeries, couldn’t work out, lost that double threat, that size-speed ratio. No political views, he just hasn’t been effective. He’s regressing as a player. I’d be shocked if he’s on this roster by the end of this year. He may not be on it in the next two weeks,” Glazer said Monday on Fox Sports, according to Pro Football Talk(RELATED: Millionaire NFL Quarterback Has Mind-Boggling Reason For Refusal To Stand For National Anthem)

So, it appears that perhaps if he is cut it won’t have anything to do with the fact he refused to stand for the national anthem, and instead is for football-related reasons. (RELATED: Colin Kaepernick: Donald Trump Is Racist, Hillary Clinton Has Broken The Law)

The dual-threat quarterback has been grounded by intense criticism after he didn’t stand for the national anthem in an attempt to protest the oppression of minorities.

However, there has been very little praise for his actions. Instead it has been a nonstop onslaught of negative attention. (RELATED: Hookstead’s Hot Take: America Stood Up For Colin Kaepernick, He Should Stand For The Flag)

If the 49ers cut Kaepernick, as Glazer suggests, then it could be incredibly hard for him to find a new team. NFL teams are notorious for not touching players with radioactive problems around them, especially if they’re not superstars.
