Apple announced the new iPhone 7  Wednesday and it has a few new features that might be of interest to consumers, including water resistance and the exclusion of the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

New Features

1.) Water and Dust Resistant Body

  • The body of the iPhone 7 will be very similar to that of iPhone 6’s, but the 7 model will be water resistant. That’s right, you can now take your iPhone in the pool, shower, or to the lake without fear, according to the Apple conference. In addition, the iPhone is dust resistant allowing users to enjoy the sleek and clean design of the iPhone from day one to the day they part with the phone.

2.) New Camera

  • The iPhone 7 camera has so many new features. It has an optimal image stabilizer that eliminates shaky photography or video recording. The phone’s new lens lets 50 percent more light into the camera’s sensors than previous generations. The lens itself has 6 elements for closer photographic detail.
  • The camera has a 12 megapixel high-speed sensor which is 60 percent faster and 30 percent more energy efficient than the iPhone 6.
  • The flash feature contains four LED true tone flash sensors which provide 50 percent more light, allow for 50 percent more distance in photos, and contain a flicker sensor to detect ambient light.
  • The camera has an Apple-designed image signal processor that uses machine learning to detect objects and people. The processor automatically adjusts exposure, pixel rate, coloring, tone mapping, noise reduction (for video), and can fuse multiple images together. This processor completes 100 billion operations every time it takes a photo, and does it in 25 milliseconds.
  • The new camera allows for live photos with video image stabilization.
  • The front camera has a 7 megapixel HD camera (up from 5 megapixels in the iPhone 6) and captures wide color images with auto image stabilization.
  • The iPhone 7 plus will have two megapixel cameras (the iPhone 7 will have just one). The 7-plus will have one wide angle camera (like the baseline iPhone 7) and one telephoto camera. This allows for the 7-plus to zoom up to 10x, a feature previously only available on a professional camera.

3.) No Headphone Jack

  • The new iPhone 7 will not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature that is nearly ubiquitous among technological products and renders it current headphones useless. Instead, the company is expected to provide lightning headphones that can connect with the device through the lightning USB port. For those without these headphones, Apple will provide an adapter for 3.5 mm headphones for every phone.

4.) Wireless Apple Earpods

  • Earpods are made possible by the new Apple W1 chip which delivers consistent connection to the mobile device.
  • Sensors in the earpods detect when they are in your ear.
  • Touch sensors on the earpods allow you to access Siri with a double tap of an earpod.
  • Voice monitors recognize the volume of the speaker and automatically adjust volume to outside noise (like fire trucks or big crowds).
  • Dr. Dre’s company, Beats, is also making a version of the earpods for the new iPhone 7 featuring the W1 chip.
  • The Earpods will reportedly cost $160.

5.) Performance

  • Runs off a new generation chip-A10 fusion-which is a 64 bit four-core CPU with 3.3 billion transistors.
  • The A10 chip is 40 percent faster than the previous A9 chip, and the iPhone 7 runs 120 percent faster than the original Apple iPhone.
  • The iPhone 7 has 240x better graphic performance than the original iPhone.
  • The new phone will feature a longer and more durable battery. The iPhone 7 can run: 40 hours using wireless audio, 13 hours using wireless video, 14 hours browsing wi-fi, 12 hours browsing using LTE, 12 hours under 3G, and 14 hours talking phone-to-phone using 3G. The iPhone 7 plus has similar numbers, with the only notable increase being that it can run for 60 hours using wireless audio.

6.) Stereo Speakers

  • The iPhone 7 will feature stereo speakers giving the phone louder audio capability with heightened clarity. The phone will have one speaker on the top of the phone and one at the bottom. These speakers will provide sound that is two times louder than the iPhone 6 and 6-plus.

7.) New Home Button

  • The new home button will not feature a button, but a real time touch screen interface.

8.) Darker Color Scheme

  • The product will feature a new and darker black color scheme

The iPhone 7 is expected to cost somewhere between $600-700 dollars.

Readers,

Instead of sucking up to the political and corporate powers that dominate America, The Daily Caller is fighting for you — our readers. We humbly ask you to consider joining us in this fight.

Now that millions of readers are rejecting the increasingly biased and even corrupt corporate media and joining us daily, there are powerful forces lined up to stop us: the old guard of the news media hopes to marginalize us; the big corporate ad agencies want to deprive us of revenue and put us out of business; senators threaten to have our reporters arrested for asking simple questions; the big tech platforms want to limit our ability to communicate with you; and the political party establishments feel threatened by our independence.

We don't complain -- we can't stand complainers -- but we do call it how we see it. We have a fight on our hands, and it's intense. We need your help to smash through the big tech, big media and big government blockade.

We're the insurgent outsiders for a reason: our deep-dive investigations hold the powerful to account. Our original videos undermine their narratives on a daily basis. Even our insistence on having fun infuriates them -- because we won’t bend the knee to political correctness.

One reason we stand apart is because we are not afraid to say we love America. We love her with every fiber of our being, and we think she's worth saving from today’s craziness.

Help us save her.

A second reason we stand out is the sheer number of honest responsible reporters we have helped train. We have trained so many solid reporters that they now hold prominent positions at publications across the political spectrum. Hear a rare reasonable voice at a place like CNN? There’s a good chance they were trained at Daily Caller. Same goes for the numerous Daily Caller alumni dominating the news coverage at outlets such as Fox News, Newsmax, Daily Wire and many others.

Simply put, America needs solid reporters fighting to tell the truth or we will never have honest elections or a fair system. We are working tirelessly to make that happen and we are making a difference.

Since 2010, The Daily Caller has grown immensely. We're in the halls of Congress. We're in the Oval Office. And we're in up to 20 million homes every single month. That's 20 million Americans like you who are impossible to ignore.

We can overcome the forces lined up against all of us. This is an important mission but we can’t do it unless you — the everyday Americans forgotten by the establishment — have our back.

Please consider becoming a Daily Caller Patriot today, and help us keep doing work that holds politicians, corporations and other leaders accountable. Help us thumb our noses at political correctness. Help us train a new generation of news reporters who will actually tell the truth. And help us remind Americans everywhere that there are millions of us who remain clear-eyed about our country's greatness.

In return for membership, Daily Caller Patriots will be able to read The Daily Caller without any of the ads that we have long used to support our mission. We know the ads drive you crazy. They drive us crazy too. But we need revenue to keep the fight going. If you join us, we will cut out the ads for you and put every Lincoln-headed cent we earn into amplifying our voice, training even more solid reporters, and giving you the ad-free experience and lightning fast website you deserve.

Patriots will also be eligible for Patriots Only content, newsletters, chats and live events with our reporters and editors. It's simple: welcome us into your lives, and we'll welcome you into ours.

We can save America together.

Become a Daily Caller Patriot today.
