Former NASCAR Driver’s Parents Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

The parents of former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon were found dead around 5 p.m. Wednesday in an Orange County, Calif. home.

Detectives are carrying out an investigation that “appears to have been a murder-suicide,” CBS Los Angeles reports. Detectives have discovered a weapon in the home where the couple was found dead.

The coroner’s office has identified and confirmed the victims as 68-year-old Robert Gordon and 57-year-old Sharon Gordon.

Robby Gordon, 47, is a former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and owner. He won three Spring Cup races in 19 seasons in the series. He’s known in NASCAR as “one of the most versatile drivers of his era,” according to USA Today.

The investigation into his parents death is ongoing.
