It seems Warner Brothers Studios has realized that Margot Robbie is their key to box office success.
The stunning Australian actress is already set to do two more films for the studio, after starring in “Focus,” “The Legend of Tarzan” and the hugely successful “Suicide Squad.”
Robbie is signing a “first-look deal with the studio,” and will be developing and producing “feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to producing, Robbie is set to star in a “Suicide Squad” spinoff focusing on her character Harley Quinn and an “adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s ‘Queen of the Air’,” which she will star in as well.
The Australian actress’ role in “Suicide Squad” was widely seen as the best part of an otherwise mediocre film. It ended up raking in a whopping $700 million worldwide, and Warner Bros. must have realized they have found their girl.
The first-look deal with Robbie “underlines Warner Bros.’ renewed focus on female-driven storytelling,” which we can expect to see a whole lot more of.
