Veteran meteorologist and Weather Channel founder John Coleman has been following Hurricane Matthew and has a message for environmentalists linking the storm to global warming.

Coleman, a noted global warming skeptic, has long been countering claims by some scientists and liberal activists linking global warming to extreme weather. Liberals have already claimed Matthew was made stronger by global warming.
“Matthew has already set a number of records — and global warming is giving it a boost,” Joe Romm, ThinkProgress’ climate editor, wrote.
“Hurricane Matthew, a record-shattering storm that is unusual for October, is a reminder of climate change’s potential to turn seasonal weather events into extreme, year-round threats,” echoed Huffington Post reporter Lydia O’Connor.
Hurricane Matthew is currently pummeling the Florida coast after leaving hundreds dead in Haiti. More than 600,000 Floridians have lost power, according to reports, and only one has died during the storm.
Matthew hasn’t made landfall, but is expected to soon. If it does, it will break an 11-year streak of no major hurricanes making landfall in the U.S.
