American Airlines flight 383 burst into flames after it either blew a tire or experienced an engine malfunction at Chicago O’Hare airport Friday afternoon.

American Airlines indicated the aircraft expierence an engine malfunction. There were reportedly 161 passengers on board with 9 crew members, attempting to depart for Miami. The fire alarm prompted an extra-alarm at the airport, sending fire engines scrambling to put the fire out.
The FAA indicated a runway was closed for a disabled aircraft, but did not elaborate the causes. The passengers and crew deplaned via chute
safely.
