This week’s female English teacher — and cheerleading coach — busted for traumatizing two different adult male students with a bunch of sex is Kelsey Leigh Gutierrez.
Investigators say Gutierrez, 25, had sex with one of the students in the backseat of her car in a Shell gas station parking lot, according to Houston NBC affiliate KPRC-TV.
Gutierrez had sex with the other student in that same backseat in an apartment parking lot, according to court documents.
There were a handful of romps over about a year and a half, investigators say, including a backseat heavy-petting session at some special, secluded spot by the side of the road.
Local police arrested Gutierrez on Monday.
On Nov. 18, pursuant to the results of an investigation, officials at Santa Fe High School — home of the Indians — fired Gutierrez. Up until then, she had been gainfully employed as an English teacher at the public high school in Santa Fe, Texas (pop.: 12,860, about 35 miles outside Houston).
Gutierrez’s downfall began with an anonymous tip to authorities.
The students were 18 and 19 years old, respectively, at the time of the alleged trysts — eligible for military service but not able to have sex with a teacher because a Texas law flatly prohibits educators from having sex with their charges at any age.
Investigators say the last of the dalliances occurred on Nov. 16 inside the 18-year-old student’s bedroom (after a pleasant movie-watching make-out session).
Four days before that, Gutierrez and the same student met around midnight in his apartment complex parking lot, police say. They made out in her car and then had sex.
Gutierrez and the 19-year-old student allegedly had their fling last academic year — both during the school year and after it ended.
That student and Gutierrez hooked up three times, according to Houston television station KIAH-TV.
There was the time the lovebirds had sex in Gutierrez’s car outside of a Shell station.
There was the time they made out in the teacher’s car by the side of the road.
And then there was that time they ended up naked in the 19-year-old student’s bathroom, trying but failing — for reasons that are unclear — to consummate their desires.
Police investigators have explained all of the various trysts in remarkably impressive detail in court documents.
Did Gutierrez and the students send texts to each other about when they would meet and about the greatness of their previous encounters? Court documents say yes!
Officials with the Santa Fe school district released a statement on Monday, when the story broke on local news.
“As soon as the District learned of the allegations, an internal investigation began including campus administrators and the District police department, and the teacher’s employment with the District ended,” the statement, obtained by KIAH, reads.
“We want you to know that we take very seriously any concerns that relate to the well-being of each of our students,” the statement adds. “Inappropriate actions by teachers will never be acceptable in this District.”
Gutierrez, a native of Louisiana and a graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake, was hired as a full-time teacher in Santa Fe in 2015. Previously, she had been an instructional aide.
She faces three counts of improper relationship between educator and student.
Her bond was either $15,000 of $45,000 — depending on which local television station you choose to believe. As of Tuesday, it’s not clear if she had posted the bond.
