White Americans are now dying faster than they are having children in 17 states.

According to research done by the University of New Hampshire, Americans of anglo descent are on the decline in many states across the country. However, in all but two of the states with declining white births, the population is still increasing due to Hispanic, Asian, and black births.

The states with more white deaths than births are Delaware, Nevada, Maine, California, Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts, Alabama, New Hampshire, Mississippi, Arkansas, Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maine and New Mexico.

The consequences of this decline in birthrate, along with most immigration into the U.S. coming from non-white countries, means that white Americans will likely be turned into a minority in the United States by 2044.

The policy consequences of such a shift could also be far reaching, with government services for older Americans swelling and a need for new, young workers. European countries, facing a similar problem have been encouraged to, and in many cases have, opened up their borders to millions of refugees from the Middle East in an effort to solve the problem of an aging workforce.
