Democratic strategist David Brock attacked left-leaning cable news network MSNBC’s coverage of the election as being too favorable to Republican President-elect Donald Trump, according to a Wednesday report by the Washington Examiner.

Brock’s issue with MSNBC’s coverage came from “pressure” that parent company NBC allegedly placed on the network to increase positive coverage of Trump during the 2016 election season.

“MSNBC is under pressure from [parent network] NBC to toe a Trump line and we need some alternative media out there,” Brock said in an interview with Politico Tuesday. “I know that there are hosts at MSNBC now who feel their jobs are at risk because the brass is for Trump.”

Brock later mentioned that one host for MSNBC came forward with the information, and he heard of other hosts who were also frustrated with the mandated Trump coverage.

The Clinton campaign didn’t have a positive internal view of Brock, as revealed by several emails leaked during the WikiLeaks Podesta email hack. Top Clinton staffers thought secretly made fun of the head official of Media Matters, and internally joked about Brock possibly being a Republican plant.

“Maybe he actually is a republican plant,” Staffer Neera Tanden wrote. “Hard to think of anything more counterproductive than demanding Bernie’s medical records.”
