A man allegedly fired shots towards his wife and daughter after someone took a bite from his grilled cheese sandwich, then barricaded himself inside his house during a three-hour standoff with police Sunday evening.
The Dunbark, Md., man was so enraged when someone in the house ate part of his grilled cheese that he fired his gun, then refused to come out of his home when police asked him to, Baltimore NBC affiliate WBAL reported.
“Apparently, the man had made a grilled-cheese sandwich and either the wife or the daughter, we’re not exactly sure who, but somebody, one of the females in the house, took a bite of his sandwich, and apparently, that enraged him to the point that he fired shots in the house,” Cpl. Shawn Vinson of the Baltimore County Police told said.
The two women fled the house. The man refused to come out of his home from about 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Eventually, police negotiators were able to convince him to leave. Authorities found evidence of gunshots inside the house, but no one was hurt in the incident, Baltimore Sun reports.
Police intend to charge the man with something along the lines of first degree assault for the weapon to threaten his daughter, Vinson said.
