Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders received a nod from a designer at Paris Fashion Week Wednesday, Vanity Fair reported.
Creative director Demna Gvasalia imprinted a number of pieces with a logo that looked similar to the Vermont senator’s presidential campaign emblem. In place of the familiar font typed “Bernie” was “Balenciaga 2017” above red and white lines on bomber jackets and scarves for men.

Vogue points out the original campaign logo of the Sanders campaign had two lines as opposed to the three lines that Balenciaga’s has, but it was likely due to either copyright laws or creative license. GQ notes “The collection was inspired by corporate dressing, which meant a lot of ugly-cool versions of suits.”
Sanders’ own “rumpled style” was analyzed throughout the campaign by media. Admirers often pointed to his man of the people image as a reason for his politically “authentic” look.
