Anti-Trump protests shrank in size Friday on their second consecutive day in Democratic strongholds like Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

According to Reuters, following a day of a “general strike” against the Trump administration on Thursday when some stayed home from school and work during what was called “A Day Without Immigrants,” Friday demonstrations appeared to be smaller in size.

A New York rally in Washington Square Park had a Facebook page set up for Friday’s protests and received a response of more than 16,000 people, but fewer than 200 activists arrived an hour after the event’s posted time, Reuters noted.

Similar reactions happened in Los Angeles at the Regent Theater and Chicago at Daley Plaza where only 60 protesters and 75 protesters, respectively, showed up to each site. In Boston on Wednesday, over 50 people turned out to rail against the Trump administration, The Boston Globe reported.

One protester, however, argued that Thursday’s demonstrations took energy out of a lot of activists.

“The immigration event yesterday was a big event, but not everyone can be at them all,” said Chicago resident Joe Balkis, a retired UPS worker.
