Mexico said it will not accept the new immigration restrictions put forward by the United States in two Department of Homeland memos published Tuesday.

According to Reuters, the country’s foreign minister Luis Videgaray said Wednesday Mexico will not accept the “unilateral” immigration policies and threatened to contact the United Nations “to defend immigrants.”

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly are scheduled to visit Mexico City Wednesday to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto. Videgaray added that the conversation during that meeting will focus on the new immigration memos.
