Yahoo has had a bad run. In recent years, the tech company has not given much thought to the privacy of its users. Its servers were the victim of two data breaches in 2013 and 2014, putting the personal information of 1.5 billion Yahoo users at risk. Earlier this week, the U.S. government charged those believed to be responsible for the attacks. But that doesn’t mean you are finally safe. (RELATED: Involved In A Data Breach? What Every Consumer Needs To Know)

According to a new report, the information from one billion accounts are still for sale on the black market. If you’ve ever given any personal info to Yahoo, there is a good chance that your date of birth, telephone number and/or security question are available for purchase.

If you want to protect yourself from data breaches and their aftermaths, the best idea is to invest in a service like ManageYOURiD. ManageYOURiD anonymously combs sites that sell your personal information. Unfortunately, everyone’s data is for sale somewhere. ManageYOURiD finds our where. And once it finds it, ManageYOURiD manages its removal. In these post-breach days, ManageYOURiD is everyone’s best hope for becoming and remaining safe.
