Rep. Adam Schiff is concerned about the timing of an article that claims to reveal who Devin Nunes’s intelligence sources were with a letter from the White House inviting ranking members to view those intelligence documents.
The New York Times reported Thursday that Ezra Cohen-Watnick and Michael Ellis were the White House officials who sourced Nunes.
“We received that almost simultaneously as the time he [Sean Spicer] announced it at the press conference,” the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said Thursday.
“I certainly think that we need to get to the bottom of this. I am more than perplexed by the motivations behind it, and I do think the White House has a lot of questions to answer, so we are going to do our best to find out.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for what the time the letter was sent.
