Well, this shouldn’t make anybody nervous at all.
The Department of Homeland Security plans to ban laptops in the cabins of all flights from Europe to the United States, European security officials told The Daily Beast…
Initially a ban on laptops and tablets was applied only to U.S.-bound flights from 10 airports in North Africa and the Middle East. The ban was based on U.S. fears that terrorists have found a way to convert laptops into bombs capable of bringing down an airplane.
Some are worried that by doing this, all those lithium-ion batteries in one place will increase the risk of fire in the cargo hold of a plane. With no way to put it out.
So, if you’re taking a trans-Atlantic flight anytime soon, the only two things you need to worry about are getting blown up by an Islamic terrorist or being trapped on a burning plane thousands of miles from land.
Maybe just stay home? We’ve got Skype now. Just use that.
