Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his philanthropist wife Priscilla visited military officers studying at the US Naval War College in Rhode Island Monday in part of a larger tour around the country.
“We discussed the impact of technology and rapid information sharing on military strategy, and how the study of thousands of years of history applies to today’s security environment,” Zuckerberg wrote on his social media profile, adding that he enjoys war games that require such skills.
“I’m always impressed by our military every time I interact with them. There is so much to learn from them as a high performing organization operating under difficult conditions,” Zuckerberg continued.
He also stopped Sunday in Millinocket, Maine to converse with a diverse group of community members, from former mill workers, librarians and teachers, to several small business owners.

Zuckerberg traveled to Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, and many other states far from Silicon Valley in recent months, driving 70-year-old tractors and intentionally engaging with Democrats who voted for President Donald Trump in the latest election.
“He [Zuckerberg] cares very much about family and about community. And he’s taking steps to do a lot of very positive things with his money,” Daniel Moore a Youngstown, Ohio resident and Democratic voter in 2008 and 2012, said of his dinner guest. “We got to know a very cool guy. However, the 33-year-old continues to deny that he is running for president in 2020.
