Seth Myers made things political on Monday night when he hosted the 2017 Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards show in New York.
During his monologue at the annual event that honors fashion designers and stylists, the late night talk show host attacked President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka while talking about the latest fashion trends, according to Time magazine. “Abercrombie & Fitch has announced it’s putting itself up for sale,” Myers told the crowd. “Meanwhile, thanks to Donald Trump, the United States has become a Banana Republic.”
“It’s harder than ever to separate fashion from politics,” he added. “First Lady Melania Trump made headlines recently after she decided not to wear a head cover when visiting Saudi Arabia. Which is especially shocking cause her husband wears a head covering literally everywhere.”

The comedian then took a shot at the first daughter, after Nordstroms announced earlier this year that they were removing Trump’s clothing line from their shelves.
“Big year for fashion designer Ivanka Trump,” Myers said. “I heard her clothes are flying off the shelves at Nordstroms.”
