Two Texas men were sentenced on Monday to 20 years in federal prison for sexually assaulting and taping their acts with a 12-year-old girl and posting the videos on Snapchat and Facebook.

Terrell Orlando Kinchen, 20, and Troy Lee Applin Jr., 23, were each sentenced by U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor to 240 months in federal prison.

Both men between January 1, 2016 July 7, 2016 coerced the 12-year-old girl into engaging in sex acts with them, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.

The men met at Kinchen’s apartment and Applin used an iPhone to videotape the girl engaging in sexual acts with Kinchen. Applin also recorded the girl engaging in a sex act with him in the bathroom at the apartment.

Once the videos were recorded, they were posted on the internet sites, Snapchat and Facebook.

“What these men did to this 12-year old girl is shocking and despicable,” said U.S. Attorney John Parker of the Northern District of Texas in a prepared statement.

“The total depravity displayed by these defendants justifies these sentences,” Parker said.

The Abilene police and Department of Homeland Security began investigating the case after receiving a tip from Child Protective Services, according to San Angelo Live.

The victim told police she performed oral sex on both men and Applin filmed her performing it on Kinchen.

Police found images of the victim on a cell phone with a black male with tattoos and used the tattoos to identify Kinchen.
