After killing his wife on an anniversary cruise because she “wouldn’t stop laughing” at him, a Utah man was charged with murder Thursday.

Kenneth Manzanares, 39, is charged with killing his wife, Kristy, on the Emerald Princess, an Alaskan cruise ship. The couple was celebrating their anniversary with their three daughters.

Authorities found Manzanares with blood all over his clothes and hands, according to witness reports. He attempted to jump off the ship but security apprehended him before he could escape the scene.

His wife was found in the family’s cabin with a severe head injury. The couple’s three daughters were reportedly in the room during the dispute.

A witness stated that Manzanares claimed that his wife “wouldn’t stop laughing at me,” causing him to lash out in anger and kill her.

After a brutal fight with his wife, Manzanares attempted to throw her body off the balcony, but a witness was able to pull the woman back inside.

“My life is over,” Manzanares said while being questioned, according to the FBI.

He is charged without bail and has a hearing set for Aug. 10.
