President Donald Trump’s disapproval rating is almost as high as leaders of Congress, according to a Thursday poll.

A strong majority of 61 percent of adults reported they held an unfavorable view of the president, compared to 63 percent who had a negative view of Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi earned a slightly higher 64 percent disapproval rating.

On the other side of the coin, Trump earned a 36 percent approval rating, higher than either congressional leader.

American adults no longer approve of either major political party, according to the poll. Sixty-one percent of the people polled hold an unfavorable view of the Republican Party, compared to 54 percent who said the same about the Democratic Party.

Congress has an overall disapproval rating of 79 percent according to the latest Gallup poll, and a 16 percent approval rating.

Respondents appeared to disagree with two Trump policies in particular. Sixty percent disagreed with the president’s decision to pardon Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Additionally, 64 percent of respondents approve the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals provisions. The president appears ready to end the program.

The poll was taken by NBC and Survey Monkey from Aug. 24 through Aug. 29. The poll sampled 10,129 adults, with a margin of error of 1.4 percentage points.
