A Hawaii-based soldier has been arrested for allegedly sextorting an underage British girl.

Federal agents arrested Christopher Ernest Fox on Wednesday morning, as a result of his apparent communication with an underage girl, which started when she was just 12 years old, HawaiiNewsNow reports.

Fox met this girl, whose name has been withheld, through Instagram and Snapchat. They then progressed to FaceTime and allegedly shared nude photos of each other. The girl shared photos first and then he followed with lewd videos of himself. The situation escalated even more with Fox apparently threatened to release the nude photo of the underage girl if she didn’t share more photos of herself.

Court records indicate that she told him her age during one of their FaceTime sessions.

While at first she went along with the obscene requests, she tried to cut ties with him. In response to that attempt, Fox decided to send her nude photos to her classmates at school, which resulted in bullying.

The investigation stateside kicked off after the school discovered these photos and told her parents, who then informed Wiltshire Police in England of her predicament. Wiltshire Police then passed the information off to the Department of Homeland Security.

Once the DHS started looking into the case, agents completed a search warrant on Fox’s residence at Schofield Barracks, at which point he admitted to blackmailing the underage girl. The Army then placed Fox on desk duty right until federal agents arrested him Wednesday.

Fox is staring down numerous charges, including transferring obscene materials to minor, sexual exploitation of children, cyberstalking and possession and distribution of child porn.
