The security guard shot by Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock has disappeared before five scheduled television appearances as police continue searching for the motives behind the attack.

Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos, who has not yet spoken to anyone from the press, was slated to explain his side of the shooting and what exactly he saw in a series of interviews Thursday, but vanished before reporters could ask questions, Fox News reported.

“We were in a room and we came out and he was gone,” Campos’s union president told reporters, according to an ABC reporter.

Fox News host Sean Hannity also said that Campos “cancelled” his appearance on Hannity’s show.

Not much is known about Campos, as only a few pictures of the security guard exist and he reportedly has no online footprint.

Law enforcement officers are still searching for find the motives behind the largest mass shooting in U.S. history at a country music concert Oct. 1 in Las Vegas, where Paddock killed 59 and injured more than 500.
