Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo hinted at the idea of returning to the NFL during a “Thursday Night Football” broadcast.
“Was it the last pass?” Romo asked with a smile on his face as Jim Nantz talked about how the former quarterback’s final NFL pass came against the Philadelphia Eagles.

I’m sure Romo has a terrible itch to return to professional football, but he’s gold in the booth. It’s downright incredible how well he can call and predict plays. Maybe his true calling all these years was never on the football field, but actually commentating from the booth.
Besides, I’m pretty sure if Romo wanted to be back in the league he could find a roster spot somewhere. There are more than a handful of teams that would make room for him. Seems more than likely he’s just toying with the audience.
He should stay in the booth where there’s no debate about whether or not he’s elite.
