Anti-Trump leaflets, presumably from North Korea, were discovered in Seoul as U.S.-South Korean joint drills kicked off Monday.
Leaflets, believed to have been delivered via balloon by the North, were found in the South Korean capital. The leaflets described Trump as a “mad dog” and demanded his dismemberment. One shows Trump as a dog with a missile in his teeth standing at the U.N. and declaring that he will “annihilate all 25 million North Koreans,” according to NK News.
“For a peaceful and war-free world and the future of mankind, let’s cut up Trump – who is a crazy dog – into several parts,” another reads. One shows key members of Trump’s cabinet, describing the Trump administration as a “psych ward.”
It is not uncommon for North Korea to send leaflets into Seoul and other parts of South Korea by balloon, but in recent weeks, the frequency of delivery has noticeably increased. The American president has become the focus of the rogue regime’s anger, as one of the leaflets simply reads, “Death to old lunatic Trump!”
U.S. and South Korean forces are currently training for a possible conflict in joint military exercises, which the North often perceives as preparations for an invasion of its territory.
The military exercises involve fighter jets, helicopters, and 40 naval vessels, including the Nimitz-class, nuclear-powered supercarrier USS Ronald Reagan. U.S. special forces tasked with “decapitation” operations in the event of a renewed conflict are reportedly in Korea for the drills, Yonhap News Agency reports, citing defense officials.
U.S.-South Korean war plans are suspected to involve contingency plans for the elimination of North Korean leadership. While the U.S. has yet to offer insight into these plans, South Korea has made its intentions clear.
Seoul began considering the development of a “decapitation” squad in 2015 as part of a broader strategy to enhance South Korea’s asymmetric warfare capabilities.
“We will develop asymmetric strategies that give us a comparative advantage over the North, like psychological warfare, decapitation operations, intelligence advantage and precision strike capabilities,” a South Korean brigadier general revealed at the time.
After North Korea conducted its fifth nuclear test in September 2016, former South Korean Defense Minister Han Min-koo said that South Korea is “considering launching a special forces unit to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.” The North conducted a sixth nuclear test last month, detonating a possible staged thermonuclear bomb. Afterwards, South Korean Defense Minister Song Young-moo explained that the South Korean military intends to have an operational before the end of the year.
The joint military exercises, which will last for five days, come at a time of heightened tension between Washington and Pyongyang. Not only have President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un engaged one another in a war of worlds, but there are indications that the rogue North Korean regime may be preparing for another provocation. The drills reportedly involve preparations to evacuate Americans living in South Korea in the event of a crisis.
North Korea has its own special forces and “decapitation” units. Kim reviewed the combat readiness of Unit 525, an elite unit created to “wipe out the human scum” in South Korea — a reference to the South Korean leadership, late last year. But, since President Donald Trump’s United Nations speech, during which he threatened to destroy North Korea if it forces America’s hand, the rogue regime has shifted its focus to a different target.
