MSNBC analyst Rick Tyler stated Wednesday that President Trump shouldn’t have even called Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson.

Tyler said, “It seems pretty obvious what was said. One of the things most extraordinary about what was said was the widow, the gold star widow, Myeshia Johnson, said the President didn’t even remember his name, that is David Johnson, the Army sergeant. And that is just extraordinary, and then Donald Trump referred to her as the woman, the wife, as if he couldn’t remember her name either.”

“I think it would have been better off if he never called this family at all,” he added.

Johnson, along with Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida, alleged that Trump was disrespectful on a phone call, allegedly saying, “he knew what he signed up for.”

Trump denied this several times, saying at the White House Wednesday, “I didn’t say what that Congresswoman said–and she knows it–and she now is not saying it.”
