Friends in Texas were gathered for a night of Halloween fun Sunday when a guest dressed as Santa Claus opened fire, critically wounding a man and a woman, police said.
“The suspect was described as being dress up as Santa Claus,” Austin Police spokesman Lee Knouse told reporters. “It was a holiday party, a Halloween party.”
Partygoers claim the Santa Claus shot at them and fled the scene after attending the party for some time, the Austin Statesman reported. Police later arrested the suspect at a second location where the alleged shooter come in contact with a group of people but did not become violent, according to ABC affiliate WWSB.

The suspect remains in police custody pending charges, Knouse told reporters.
