President Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted that he should have left the three UCLA players in a Chinese jail after LaVar Ball gave Trump no credit for their release.

LaVar Ball, the father of one of the arrested players, on Friday downplayed Trump’s role in freeing the players from a Chinese jail earlier in the week.

In reference to Trump, Ball said to ESPN, “Who?”

“What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out,” he continued.

Trump helped free the players jailed in China after shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store. They were potentially facing 10 years in jail. After securing their release, Trump wondered on Twitter if he’d be thanked. (RELATED: Trump Asks Whether UCLA Basketball Players Will Thank Him For Avoiding Chinese Prison)
