Video has emerged of U.S. Navy pilots drawing a penis in the sky with Airplane exhaust over the city of Okanogan, Washington, Friday with a Navy EA-18G Growler jet.

The incident has prompted an intense investigation and apology from the U.S. Navy after images of the incident went viral on social media. The incident also sparked a wide array of media coverage and prompted action from the ranks of the U.S. Navy.
“The American people rightfully expect that those who wear the Wings of Gold exhibit a level of maturity commensurate with the missions and aircraft with which they’ve been entrusted,” Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker said in a statement Friday, adding: “Naval aviation continually strives to foster an environment of dignity and respect. Sophomoric and immature antics of a sexual nature have no place in Naval aviation today.”
