Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi claimed Monday the Republican tax bill is the end of the world. Calling the bill “armageddon,” Pelosi said, “there’s really a very hard way to come back from this.”
Speaking to reporters after the motion to send the bill to conference, the former Speaker of the House said, “This is the end of the world. The debate on health care is live/death, this is armageddon. This is a very big deal. Because, you know why? There’s really a very hard way to come back from this.”

Many liberals have been treating the Republican tax cut bill as if it was the end of the world. The New York Times editorial board encouraged readers to contact their Senators to oppose the cuts, calling the reductions “A historic tax heist.” (RELATED: The Tax Bill Murdered The Universe!)
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders took it a step further in a series of tweets over the weekend.
Historians will look back on Dec. 1, 2017 and conclude this was one of the great robberies in US history because Republicans are looting the Treasury.

Someone alert the authorities: Senate Republicans are looting the Treasury. I’m live now speaking about the Republican tax bill: https://t.co/pcPrFdrc8K

I say to my Republican colleagues: The American people are catching on. While you may get away with this act of looting tonight, history is not on your side.

Comedian Patton Oswalt declared the bill to be the end of America as we know it.
Is there any going back after this #TaxBillScam? To America? Does it matter now if Trump is impeached? There’s no America now. Not the one we knew. Sorry, feeling real despair this morning
