To get into the holiday spirit, the cohosts started the show with a review of Starbucks’ new “Christmas Tree Frappuccino,” but the real focus is on Sen. Al Franken and his horrible excuse for a resignation speech.
The Democratic senator from Minnesota announced that he intends to resign after eight women accused him of sexual harassment and groping. However, his resignation speech was riddled with excuses for his behavior rather than an apology.
Franken claimed that he didn’t remember some of the alleged incidents, that some of the accusers were flat-out lying, and that he “respects women.” He also made sure to throw in jabs at President Donald Trump and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
If Sen. Franken had any dignity remaining after this sexual harassment scandal, he lost it with his terrible non-apology on the Senate floor today.
