Couple Proves Love Is Alive And Well During Indianapolis Colts Game

There are some traits that are so uniquely American that they ensure our people will be bound together in unity until the end of time.

We all own at least one pair of blue jeans. We prefer our drinks on ice, no matter the weather. We buy our paper towels, lightbulbs, and beer in bulk. And we refuse to use the metric system.

But perhaps what knits us tightest is our downright obsession with football. American football. The kind without the feet.

Which is why the Colts-Broncos game last night was a sight to behold. Not because of the blinding colors or the intense injuries (although they were pretty wild) but because of one couple’s undying commitment to their home team.

Joseph Swaim and Jennifer Hardey decided to tie the knot before the Colts took the field in an effort to (1) express their love for each other and (2) not miss the game.

Blue, the Colts’ mascot, officiated the ceremony.

And as a wedding present, Mr. and Mrs. Swaim got tickets to Super Bowl LII. The onlooking fans in the stadium erupted into cheers. This is what marriage is all about.

If this doesn’t reaffirm your love for America, I don’t know what will. Find me another country that’s as vehemently devoted to a sport like America is. I don’t see any Italians getting married on a soccer field. I haven’t seen many Canadians exchanging vows on the hockey rink. No Brits on the polo pitch. You see, it’s American’s undying commitment to football above everything else that ensures success for generations to come.
