Kendrick Lamar will be the halftime act for the upcoming college football national championship game January 8.
ESPN announced the news Tuesday with a hype video for Lamar.
I like Kendrick Lamar. He’s got some great songs, and he can without a doubt put on a major show. However, this is kind of disappointing when you consider the fact that it was initially reported that Taylor Swift would be doing the show.
I have no doubt he’s still going to rock the crowd, but I think America was ready for Swift. I have to wonder if anything changed between the initial report and now, or if she was never doing the show at all.
Either way, Lamar is who we’ve got. It still should be a ton of fun, but just a little bit of a letdown. Hopefully he does such a great show that nobody even remembers Swift could have been there by the time it’s done.
