The majority of the final “Game of Thrones” season will be directed by the two men behind the famous Battle of the Bastards and the Red Wedding episodes.

Games Radar reported the following:

While we still (maybe) have another winter to get through before we reach the promised land of the final six episodes, we now know who will be directing each episode, and in what order. The Red Wedding and Battle of the Bastards directors have a huge role to play – so expect deaths, dragons and battles. Lots of battles.

Winter is Coming have worked out the directing order for each episode, which is as follows: Episodes 1, 2, and 4 will be directed by The Winds of Castamere (aka the Red Wedding) director David Nutter. Meanwhile, episodes 3 and 5 are placed in the very capable hands of Miguel Sapochnik, of Battle of the Bastards fame.

So, is the whole final season going to be nothing but massive battles? That would seem to be a solid guess now that we know who is directing. This is pretty awesome. I’d totally be down for an entire season of nothing but massive battles and killing.

The Battle of the Bastards was one of the coolest moments in the whole series, and the Red Wedding was a twist for the ages. I think we’re in safe hands for the final season, which is relaxing for sure.

There is no set release date for the final season of “Game of Thrones,” but it’s not expected to happen anytime soon. Fans can still complain about that (rightfully so), but there’s no reason to be complaining about who is now running the show.
