President Donald Trump brushed off Roy Moore and Ed Gillespie’s losses in Alabama and Virginia Saturday by noting the winning record of Republican candidates in 2017 congressional races.
Remember, the Republicans are 5-0 in Congressional races this year. In Senate, I said Roy M would lose in Alabama and supported Big Luther Strange – and Roy lost. Virginia candidate was not a “Trumper,” and he lost. Good Republican candidates will win BIG!

Trump noted his original endorsement of Moore’s opponent, Luther Strange, in the Republican senate primary of Alabama. After Strange’s loss to Moore the president endorsed Moore despite allegations of sexual misconduct with minors, but he did not campaign for him. Trump noted after Moore’s narrow loss that he had previously “said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election.”
The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!

Trump also repeated his previous criticism of Gillespie for not being a “Trumper.” After Gillespie’s loss in the Virginia gubernatorial race the president said that he had “worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for.”
Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Don’t forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!
