Former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn’s brother responded to a presidential tweet Tuesday with a plea for his sibling’s pardon.

“About time you pardoned General Flynn who has taken the biggest fall for all of you given the illegitimacy of this confessed crime in the wake of all this corruption,” Michael Flynn’s younger brother Joseph responded to the president.

Joseph Flynn later deleted the tweet but confirmed its authenticity to Newsweek saying “I said it, and maybe he’s listening.” Michael Flynn was fired for lying to Vice President Mike Pence regarding conversations with then Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak after serving nearly a month as National Security Advisor.

Flynn also lied to the FBI when asked about the incident, a crime for which he was charged by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Trump has not explicitly ruled out a pardon for Flynn, telling reporters earlier this month “I don’t want to talk about pardons for Michael Flynn yet,” adding, “We’ll see what happens.”
