A guest on MSNBC Thursday claimed that President Trump is “uncomfortable” when around “competent people.”

WATCH:

Rick Tyler, a former spokesman for Ted Cruz, appeared on “MSNBC Live,” to say “The president is very uncomfortable having competent people around him.”

“Uncomfortable,” host Stephanie Ruhle said.

He continued, “Very uncomfortable. So, which is why Mitt Romney makes him so nervous. Because when you juxtapose Mitt Romney with Donald Trump, there is a huge chasm of competency between the two. So he doesn’t want him within 5,000 miles of the White House.”

“Because, what Donald Trump spends all his time doing, you’ll notice, is he tries to diminish people. Even though he looks foolish in the process of diminishing others, he doesn’t care, as long as he looks better than the next guy, and that’s the way he compares himself. That’s what business people, actually frankly, do,” Tyler said. (RELATED: MSNBC Analyst Blames Trump’s ‘Profound Sexual Insecurity’ For Nuclear Button Tweet [VIDEO])
