Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin and disgraced former New York congressman Anthony Weiner will reportedly be handling their divorce out of court.

According to Page Six, Abedin was set to appear in court on Wednesday for a compliance conference, but instead, her lawyer submitted paperwork signed by both parties agreeing to end the case. Page Six initially reported that Abedin was calling off the divorce entirely, but Abedin’s lawyer clarified that the pair wished to settle the matter out of court in order to protect their 6-year-old son.

“In order to reduce any impact of these proceedings on their child, the parties have decided to attempt to reach a settlement swiftly and privately,” Abedin’s lawyer said.

A judge confirmed from the bench that the court case had been “discontinued.”

Abedin officially filed for divorce last May after Weiner pleaded guilty to sexting a minor after exchanging x-rated text messages with a 15-year-old girl. She stood by her philandering husband during near-constant sexting scandals, but apparently gave up on the marriage when Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
