Matt Patricia picking a team with a franchise QB, limited history of success, and a GM he worked with for years over a team with none of those things is a no brainer.

#Patriots DC Matt Patricia has long been the favorite for the #Lions, despite overtures from the #Giants. @AdamSchefter reported he’s likely their coach, and that has been my understanding all along, as well. Patriots likely lose Patricia and McDaniels.

Let’s go! As a Detroit Lions fan, I absolutely love this hire. Getting rid of Jim Caldwell was a bit risky in my opinion, but hiring Patricia is a home run.
The guy has had tons of success with the New England Patriots, and has spent years studying under Bill Belichick. Proven winners are always worth adding to the roster.
I like this move a lot. Hand the keys over to Patricia, let Stafford go out there and gun the ball, keep Jim Bob Cooter on as offensive coordinator, and I think everything is going to workout just fine for my Lions. This is going to be a fun ride as Patricia hopefully takes this franchise to the next level.
