Legendary country singer Dolly Parton turns another year older on Friday. In honor of her day, we took a look back at some of her most unforgettable moments on the red carpet and stage.

The 72-year-old singer and actress has done it all during her career that has spanned more than six decades and is easily one of the world’s most beloved celebrities. Throughout the 80s she became a world-famous star with her performances on the big screen in hits like “9 to 5,” “Steel Magnolias” and “Rhinestone.” (RELATED: 20 Reasons To Celebrate Pippa Middleton’s Birthday [SLIDESHOW])

She has been breaking hearts since she got her start as a regular on the “Porter Wagoner Show” in 1967 and later that year released her debut album “Hello, I’m Dolly.” Since that time the singer has had 73 songs in the Top 20, earning her this week a Guinness Book of World Record for the “Most decades with a Top 20 hit on the US Hot Country Songs chart.”

During her long career, she has been honored and recognized dozens of times for her work as a performer and as a philanthropist, most recently in September when she took home the Gary Haber Lifting Lives Award at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards.

In 1999, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and has composed more than 3,000 songs.

There is truly nothing she can’t do and it’s why we love her. Happy Birthday Dolly!
