Unidentified thieves stole a trailer Tuesday morning containing a “church in a box,” that holds the entirety of an Arizona church’s equipment for their second site.

Footage from a surveillance camera showed a white pick-up truck at 3 a.m. Tuesday in the area where Cross of Glory Lutheran Church stored a trailer. The returning to the area and drove away with the trailer at 5:23 a.m., stealing the entire church minus the congregation, walls, and roof, reported ABC15.

Church staff posted to Facebook asking locals to actively watch for any sign of the trailer, that contained all of the Peoria based church’s equipment for worship at their second site.

“You feel violated,” Pastor John Ehlers said, according to ABC15. “It’s hard to function without it because, when you’re worshiping in a school — in a gymnasium, you have to bring everything in.”

The stolen Church in a Box is valued at $40,000 and consisted of a baptismal font, a pulpit, banners, and other items. The church uses that equipment to hold services at Lake Pleasant Elementary in Vistancia, Ehlers said.

Despite the theft, Ehlers told ABC15 the church will continue services with or without the equipment.

“They can’t take God’s word from you,” Ehlers said.

The trailer is white, seven by 16 feet in dimension, has damage on the back left side, and has license plate number AZ 65955D. Police are still searching for the culprits.
