“The View’s” Sunny Hostin said that she was “shocked” that so many Americans had a positive view of President Trump’s State of the Union address Wednesday.

“I thought the speech was very divisive. I thought in part it was very offensive,” Hostin said.

She explained that she thought Trump was demonizing immigrants in his speech last night.

“When he said Americans are dreamers, too. I would say that the DACA bill has bipartisan support, it has the support of America, and for this president to conflate the dreamers with gang members, he was demonizing our immigrants here and I was offended by his speech actually. I thought that it was extremely divisive. I mean, if he wanted to unite our country, that is not the way to do it.”

Megan McCain asked, “Are you surprised so many people reacted positively?”

“Well, I’m shocked, and I’m also shocked at the numbers. Because you said, CBS was 70-something and CNN was 40-something. Who are they interviewing? I don’t know,” Hostin said.

As McCain noted, polls indicated that most of America reacted positively to the speech. A poll from CBS indicated that 75 percent of Americans approved of the address. (RELATED: CNN Poll: Majority Had Positive Opinion Of Trump SOTU [VIDEO])
