Former Clinton campaign advisor Zerlina Maxwell said Monday that White House press secretary Sarah Sanders “lies every day.”
“They said Sarah Huckabee Sanders is broadening the time line,” MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace said.
“John Kelly said this was taken care of in 40 minutes contradicting the statement he released that night. But I don’t understand why the chief of staff could say 40 minutes and the White House press secretary can say with a straight face it was 24 hours.”
“Well she lies every day, Katy,” Maxwell responded.
“And we watch that every day. And what she says does not match up with the facts frequently. But I think the more important point is Don McGahn knew before this for a long time because the FBI was alerted immediately when they went into the background check.” (RELATED: Sarah Sanders Shuts Down CNN’s Acosta By Bringing Up The Elephant In The Room)
“So for me, it is less of a question of when John Kelly knew because that is more in the recent headlines. Don McGahn knew this for a year and he knew and his staff knew and they had the photographs and so why did he not do anything about that at the time, particularly because this is two scandals, one involving domestic violence and another involving security clearance.”
