White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders slammed Democratic lawmakers Tuesday for holding up the nominations of the Trump administration in the Senate.

“Compared to the four previous administrations, this Senate has confirmed the fewest nominees. 73 fewer confirmations than the next closest administration. Half of President Trump’s nominees are still waiting for confirmation in the Senate,” Sanders said. “The obstruction is so out of control even some Senate Democrats believe it is inappropriate.”

“Enough is enough. We need people who are qualified to fill these important positions in our government.”

Sanders highlighted the case of U.S. Ambassador to Germany nominee Richard Grenell, an experienced U.S. diplomat. Grenell is a “Harvard-educated, experienced diplomat” and “the longest serving U.S. Spokesperson at the united Nations,” Sanders said. “Senator Schumer’s hyper political delay on Mr. Grenell puts America’s foreign policy interests in jeopardy. The Senate should move to confirm him immediately.”
