Democratic Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro rocked an all-purple look on the floor of the House Of Representatives Tuesday, and almost everyone was confused.
According to several insiders, DeLauro wore purple to raise awareness for National Hunger & Homeless Awareness Week.

It’s difficult to tell since CSPAN doesn’t really pick up the entire outfit, but it’s just clear enough to make out the important stuff.
Looks like she’s wearing a short-sleeve purple leather jacket, which is definitely not in vogue. She’s also got on a purple ruffled scarf, purple bifocals, and a purple streak in her hair. Truly a sight to behold.

Looking at her, I can’t help but be reminded of a few cultural icons.
Prince, in all his purple glory.
Jimi Hendrix in his Purple Haze.

The Joker, played by the late, great Heath Ledger.
Rep. DeLauro is a one-of-a-kind lady. I used to live in her district of Connecticut, and I’m pretty familiar with her policies. She single-handedly pissed off a majority of the fine people in the third district of Connecticut by letting New Haven become an even bigger hellhole than it was when she started in 1991.
She’s as liberal as they come and as tough as they come. She has absolutely zero intention of solving any problems for the homeless and the hungry other than raising taxes and putting even more people in the poorhouse. Sorry, DeLauro. Purple just isn’t going to cut it.
