The Bills’ season may be well over, but the fine people of Buffalo are still going strong.

And in case you had any doubts, a very able-bodied student at the University Of Buffalo has been willing to show the world that his city isn’t going anywhere.

His name is Kyle Hughes and, if his name sounds familiar, that’s probably because it is. He sank a half court shot a few weeks back during an Akron-UB game and won 12 medium pizzas right on the spot.

His celebration was something that defines generations.

This week he’s back in a big way. He promised that if the Buffalo Bulls made it to March Madness, he’d put his body through a table, as is Buffalo tradition. And he made good on his promise on Thursday night.

“A promise is a promise,” Hughes tweeted.

Now this really doesn’t come as a surprise since Hughes is the vice president of the UB Pride Club and his team upset Arizona in a shocking blowout on Thursday night. If my 13th seeded team upset a 4th seed I’d be ready to run through a wall, much less a table. But running through tables is customary in Buffalo and I’m just glad to see people are preserving their traditions, no matter how much the world changes.
