Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro waded into the verbal battle between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday
Trump criticc focused more on the president’s response than Biden’s initial jab. CNN’s Chris Cillizza offered a full analysis of what Trump’s tweet “revealed” about him. On ABC’s “The View,” host Sunny Hostin called the president “such a bully” while excusing Biden’s comments as “kind of chivalrous.”
But Shapiro, who has often been critical of both Trump and Biden, took a completely different approach. He appeared to be all in favor of an honest-to-goodness fight — and he was even ready to volunteer to be the official announcer:
I volunteer to announce this fight. “Oh my goodness, he’s fallen and he can’t get up!” https://t.co/e2laIqQc1G

Shapiro didn’t stop there, delivering punchline after punchline:
“Wow, Trump clapped on, and Biden just clapped off!”

“Trump’s gonna feel that tomorrow morning in his walk-in bathtub!”

“Wow, Biden is just punching that Life Alert button.”

Shapiro’s overall assessment was simple: “There’s no way America is worse off if we have a Biden-Trump fight.”
And he’s not alone. Back in 2016, the first time Biden raised the notion of a physical fight between himself and Trump, CNN’s Jake Tapper had imagined what such a fight would actually look like:
