Fox is planning to air “Meghan Markle: An American Princess” just days ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry, Variety reported Thursday.
“Since the early days of the British monarchy, right up to the present, the royal family has captivated the minds and imaginations of people across the globe,” Fox president of alternative entertainment and specials Rob Wade said in a statement.
“With Meghan Markle on the cusp of becoming a real princess, joining the likes of Princess Kate and the late Princess Diana, this special will give viewers a unique look and insight into her journey, from her upbringing in Southern California to her wedding to Prince Harry in Windsor Castle,” he added.
The two-hour documentary special, created by UK-based production company Spun Gold, will reportedly feature behind-the-scenes looks at the bride-to-be through interviews with Markle’s half sister Samantha, Piers Morgan, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell and Queen Elizabeth’s former press secretary Dick Arbiter.
“‘An American Princess’ will provide viewers with the definitive inside story of the most talked-about wedding of the year, packed with exclusive insights into how Meghan and the world’s most famous family will change each other’s lives,” Spun Gold’s Daniela Neumann explained.
The couple will tie the knot at a ceremony on May 19 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018.
