Comedian Larry the Cable Guy made it known Tuesday he’s very pro-Second Amendment.
Larry the Cable Guy — real name Daniel Lawrence Whitney — is not convinced by arguments calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment as he voiced his opinion in a series of tweets.
History, History, History! Learn from it. RT @PoliticalShort: Those wanting to repeal the Second Amendment should read Judge Kozinski’s Dissenting Opinion in Silveira v. Lockyer https://t.co/CgjhjNoSxl pic.twitter.com/AzsMRoCORK

When critics engaged him, Larry responded by suggesting that “gun free zones” were essentially an open invitation to shooters
you wouldn’t have to if we didn’t have gun free zones telling criminals they have no fear to be retaliated against (where the majority are) and incompetent officials. Just saw yesterday the pulse nightclub shooter

Larry’s final assessment was that America’s problem is not so much rooted in guns, but rooted in hearts.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but when I was growing up people had guns in their back windows, carried em in holsters, had gun teams at school and none of the problems we have today. We got a heart issue not a gun issue.

Larry did agree with one person who suggested that allowing kids access to social media likely has an impact on that “heart issue.” Responding to the idea that banning kids under 18 from social media might be more effective than gun legislation, he replied simply, “ya. They’re brutal! So are adults!”
